WELCOME,
DEAR HEART

IF YOU’RE HERE IT’S BECAUSE YOU ARE A MEDIAL WOMAN

(WHETHER YOU KNOW IT YET OR NOT)

A MEDIAL WOMAN IS ONE WHO LIVES in TWO WORLDS at once:
THE SEEN & THE UNSEEN

As a huge-hearted and ambitious human with big dreams and a sacred vision for what’s possible in this life—for you and for the collective—you play a critical and tricky role: bringing heart and soul to everything you do…in a world that more often than not depletes, devalues, and even trivializes your value, your values, and your incredible gifts.

Whatever you create—your art, your writing, your business, your children—I know that you are creating it from your soul, and with your whole damn heart.

But it can be f*cking hard.

Especially when culture seems hellbent on dismissing you: trivial at best; a madwoman at worst.

HELLO, DEAR one.

I’M KATE

YOUR GUIDE INTO BODY, MIND, & SOUL LIBERATION

It all started eight years ago, when I left my job in-house as Senior Editor to become a freelance book editor myself. I made the most of my health insurance, quit my job, married my man, and got to work as an editor for women writers.

Within a month, the #MeToo Movement came for us all—and I became a woman who held my sisters as they wrote and shared their trauma-laden stories.

At the time I believed I was one of the lucky ones.

I spent years holistically editing, educating, and coaching women writers to believe in their creative visions, write the books they’d spent years dreaming up—even when they required facing immense past trauma—and secure agent representation and book deals, until the truth revealed itself: I was one of them.

Years of burnouts and chronic stress piled atop CPTSD symptoms unleashed after three decades of repressed memory brought me to my knees. I came undone.

At the time I couldn’t image taking two weeks away from work to really rest. I shut down my business and embarked on what would turn out to be a two-year walk through the proverbial wilderness: finding my safety, finding my self.

You find me, here, on the other side: a Medial Woman. Self-liberated. Grounded. Deeply connected and divinely guided. Creating with a Whole Heart with the goal to be a Hollow Bone.

A certified MindBody Somatic Life Coach (and a devoted Book Coach, still). Your faithful guide into the stunning, magical, and transformative depths of YOU: body, mind, and soul.

Thank you for being here. My soul sees your soul.

    • According to my latest shamanic journey, however, my primary spirit animal is jellyfish

    • The calliope jellyfish spends its days sun-floating close to the surface of warm, shallow waters, effortlessly cultivating its food source, algae, which grows harmlessly upon its "skin" as it floats and snacks. #learnfromnature #goals

THE WHOLE HOUSE PHILOSOPHY

  • 01 / Justice + Reclamation

The path home to embodiment is the path home to the Soul—of the self, and by inextricable extension, of the World and the Universe.

To be a Medial Woman, connected to and in communication with the Divine, is to know that All Beings are inherently worthy and deserving of safety, health, respect, love, and dignity.

WHOLE HOUSE seeks to honour the ways in which colonialism and its many accompanying oppressive systems have caused severe power imbalances and immeasurable harms that perpetuate suffering on our planet. To learn more, check out our policy page here.

  • 02/ PSYCHOLOGICAL SAFETY + Softness

WHOLE HOUSE prides itself on helping its clients get life-changing results through accessing safety and extending themselves softness, gentleness, and loving kindness.

As a certified, trauma-trained somatic practitioner educated by some of the world's leading psychologists and mental health professionals, and as a survivor of childhood sexual abuse myself, I am keenly aware of the myriad challenges trauma survivors face in their day-to-day lives—and of the critical importance of working with professionals who are able to create a safe enough space for healing and transformation to occur.

  • 03/ WHOLE HEART HOLLOW BONE

WHOLE HEART HOLLOW BONE is my personal philosophy, discovered and defined over the course of many years as a creative, a healer, and a Medial woman.

In my experience, in order to do one's sacred work in the world, one must first seek out and create healing for herself. One must become the WHOLE HEART: a fount of love, unconditional as is possible in any moment, for oneself and others.

As she returns to wholeheartedness, she can then set out on her lifelong path to embody the HOLLOW BONE: a term, used by the Lakota people (and occurring in numerous other Indigenous cultures around the world), meaning one who is a clear channel for lifeforce energy, undistorted by the projections, fears, and insecurities of the psyche (my definition).

It is my life's work to embody the WHOLE HEART and the HOLLOW BONE, and support others to HEAL, SERVE, and CREATE as a wholehearted channel for creative lifeforce energy.
